Job summary

Jerry Falwell Library at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a part-time Interlibrary Loan Student Worker Assistant to support librarians and customers. You will gather, process, and distribute materials, locate items, and prepare shipments, reporting to the Interlibrary Loan Supervisor.

The position requires you to be a current student in good academic standing, to work on campus, and to lift up to 250 pounds. Expect 12–18 hours per week with a starting pay rate of $12.77 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student in good academic standing.
• Federal Work Study approved preferred.
• Must be able to push book carts weighing up to 250 pounds.
• Previous library experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interlibrary Loan Assistant: supports the Interlibrary Loan staff with gathering, processing, and distributing library materials to customers.
• Locates and retrieves books, audiovisual materials, and periodicals from the various library collections and areas.
• Scans articles/book chapters for customers.
• Uses Alma to check library materials in and out.
• Packages library materials being shipped to other libraries and distance learners.
• Transports library materials to and from the Customer Service Center and ASRS, and delivers materials to faculty offices and/or departments.
