Job summary

University at Buffalo is seeking a Lending Services Coordinator who is service-oriented and detail-driven to support Interlibrary Loan lending operations, maintain relationships with partner libraries, and ensure UB libraries participate effectively in the resource-sharing community.

You will process ILL requests via Alma, Rapido, OCLC, ILLiad, and other systems, coordinate staffing with the Resource Sharing Team, serve on committees, and contribute to a welcoming, diverse environment.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with relevant library experience or Bachelor's with one year experience.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with diverse groups.
• Judgment and problem-solving guided by policies and procedures.
• Ability to work independently without day-to-day supervision.
• Technological proficiency with library systems and software.
• Commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for Lending operations and resolve issues.
• Process ILL/resource sharing lending requests from UB and non-UB libraries accurately and timely.
• Handle requests via Alma, Rapido, OCLC, ILLiad, RapidILL, and other systems.
• Monitor borrowing library issues and communicate on overdue/lost items.
• Create invoices for UB-owned materials not returned.
• Collaborate with Resource Sharing Team to staff student assistants.
• Serve on committees to coordinate workflows across systems.
