Job summary

The University at Buffalo Libraries is seeking a service-oriented Lending Services Coordinator to join a team dedicated to resource sharing. You will facilitate lending via Interlibrary Loan (ILL), maintain relationships with partner libraries, and ensure UB Libraries are a productive member of the resource sharing community.

Responsibilities include processing ILL requests through Alma, Rapido, RapidILL, ILLiad, and other systems, coordinating with borrowing libraries, and creating invoices for

Qualifications

• Associate degree with three years of relevant library experience or a bachelor’s degree with one year of experience.
• Organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly, resolve inquiries efficiently, and maintain positive relationships across groups.
• Judgment and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess situations and implement solutions guided by guidelines and policies.
• Ability to work independently without day-to-day supervision.
• Technological proficiency, including the ability to learn and adapt to new software, systems and technology.
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with the ability to support a diverse learning and working environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the initial contact for UB Resource Sharing Lending operations by answering questions and referencing specialists.
• Process ILL/Resource Sharing Lending requests from non-UB libraries via Alma, Rapido, ILLiad, RapidILL and other systems.
• Monitor and communicate with Borrowing libraries regarding ILL issues, overdue items, and lost materials.
• Create invoices for UB-owned materials not returned by borrowing institutions.
• Collaborate with Resource Sharing Team and Delivery Services staff to determine staffing needs.
• Serve on committees to coordinate workflows with library and resource sharing systems.
