Job summary

High Plains Library District is seeking a part-time Interlibrary Loan assistant in Greeley to provide requested materials to patrons and other libraries. You will assist patrons with ILL services, explain checkout policies, and help locate materials from outside the district.

Primary duties include maintaining records in various library systems, receiving and routing returned items, and ensuring timely fulfillment of requests.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of interlibrary loan practices and procedures (ILLO).
• Skill in using the library district catalog and circulation system.
• Skill in customer relations.
• Skill in Windows, Word, Internet Explorer, Outlook, Horizon, and ILL Databases.
• Skilled in oral and written communication.
• Sierra ILS preferred.
• Able to do highly detailed, accurate work.
• Able to work independently as well as cooperatively.
• Able to operate various office equipment including copiers.

Responsibilities

• Provide materials to patrons and other libraries via ILL.
• Assist patrons in using ILL services and explain policies on check out, renewals, and lost/damaged items.
• Maintain records in Excel, OCLC, SWIFT, ILLiad and Sierra; enter due dates and notes.
• Receive materials by checking in items from other libraries and route to branches.
• Return materials to lending libraries using SWIFT/ILLiad and record in Sierra.
• Locate materials outside the District by searching ILL databases and contacting libraries.
