Job summary

The City of Cortez, CO seeks a mid-level Technical Services Librarian for onsite, full-time employment. You will ensure accurate records, support access to library materials, and assist patrons with library services, including basic money handling and technology support.

Responsibilities include cataloging, interlibrary loan coordination, and maintaining clerical documentation while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service to the Cortez community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus 1+ year cataloging and interlibrary loan experience (or equivalent).
• Proficiency searching databases; strong computer literacy.
• Clear written and verbal communication; strong customer service skills.
• Ability to count money and maintain accurate records; valid Colorado driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Manage interlibrary loan services and coordinate resource sharing.
• Catalog new and replacement items in the integrated library system.
• Maintain files, records, and related clerical documentation.
• Assist with basic money handling as needed.
• Help patrons understand library services and materials.
• Teach patrons essential computer skills and support database searching.
