Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks an Interim Senior Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller to support a global technology and manufacturing client during a transition. The role is hybrid in the South Bay Area with a fully remote option for qualified candidates, lasting about three months.

You will lead monthly and quarterly closes, manage intercompany activities, consolidations, and balance sheet reconciliations, and partner with auditors to ensure accurate reporting across entities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in corporate accounting or controllership.
• Experience leading monthly and quarterly close across multiple entities.
• Strong ownership of close activities in a multinational environment.
• Hands-on experience with journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany accounting, and consolidations.
• Ability to research issues, gather evidence, and drive tasks to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute monthly and quarterly close across domestic and international entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, intercompany activity, and fixed assets.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve aged items.
• Support GL, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity reporting.
• Review subledger activity across AP, AR, revenue, inventory, payroll, and other areas.
• Analyze transaction-level detail and supporting documentation to resolve issues.
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests.
• Partner with Finance, business teams, external providers, and auditors to resolve close issues.
• Improve close checklists, supporting schedules, and process ownership.
• Provide workflow direction while remaining involved in execution.
