Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks an Interim Controller to provide leadership and stability across the accounting organization during a period of growth and transformation.

The role will lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensure accurate financial reporting, and strengthen internal controls while coordinating external audits and staff development. This 5-month assignment may extend, with a hybrid/remote work option.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 15+ years of progressive accounting experience with Controller or senior leadership responsibility.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, consolidations, close management, internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounting organization including general ledger, AP, payroll, consolidations, close activities, and audit support.
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses; provide guidance to staff.
