Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an Interim Senior Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller to provide immediate support during a transition for a global tech and manufacturing client in the South Bay Area.

The role is hybrid with a fully remote option for qualified candidates and lasts about three months with possible extension. You will lead close processes, manage journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany activity, and assist auditors to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred.
• 10+ years in corporate accounting, controllership, or accounting operations.
• Experience owning close activities in a multinational or multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly and quarterly close for domestic and international entities.
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepaids, intercompany activity, and consolidations.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances.
• Support general ledger accounting, intercompany accounting, and multi-entity reporting.
• Review subledger activity across AP/AR/revenue/inventory/payroll and other areas.
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor requests.
• Partner with Finance, business teams, external providers, and auditors to resolve issues.
• Improve close checklists, schedules, and process documentation.
• Provide workflow direction to accounting staff while remaining hands-on.
