Job summary

CFS is seeking an Interim Payroll Manager to lead U.S. and Canadian payroll operations from Shelton, CT. You will oversee end-to-end payroll processing, mentor the payroll team, and ensure timely, accurate compliance across multi-state and Canadian requirements.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership and collaboration with HR and Finance to resolve issues in a high-volume environment. CPP preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPP certification strongly preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive payroll experience including U.S. multi-state and Canadian payroll.
• 3+ years of direct payroll supervisory experience in a large organization.
• Experience supporting 5,000+ employees across multiple locations.
• Familiarity with manufacturing or large, complex environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canada.
• Provide hands-on leadership and support to the payroll team.
• Manage multi-state and Canadian payroll requirements, including tax compliance and reporting.
• Support payroll operations for 5,000+ employees across locations.
• Collaborate with HR, Finance, Benefits to resolve payroll issues and ensure compliance.
• Review processes and implement efficiencies; troubleshoot discrepancies.
• Maintain continuity of payroll operations during interim assignment.
