Saint Joseph Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Boston/Dorchester, MA, is seeking an Interim RN/LPN Nursing Unit Manager for our Long-term Care Unit. The role reports to the Director of Nursing and oversees nursing and CNA staff to ensure high-quality resident care.

Qualifications

• RN or LPN Interim Longterm Care Nursing Unit Manager
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience in long term care
• Minimum of 1 year experience in supervision of staff
• Ability to manage and direct subordinates
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate with residents, families, and co-workers

Responsibilities

• Acts as an extension of the Director of Nursing for the unit and is in charge of all nursing and CNA staff.
• Provides support and guidance in nursing care and directs nursing and CNA staff daily on the unit.
• Ensures policies and guidelines are followed and educates residents and families; coordinates with Rehabilitation Department for individualized care.
• Communicates residents' needs to physicians and practitioners, aiming to reduce unplanned hospital transfers.
• Engages daily with the interdisciplinary team to meet discharge goals and objectives.
• Ensures education needs for residents and families are identified and teaching occurs before discharge.
