Job summary

Saint Joseph Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Boston, MA, is seeking an Interim Longterm Care Nursing Unit Manager (RN or LPN) to lead the unit's nursing and CNA staff, ensuring high-quality resident care and compliance with clinical protocols.

The role reports to the Director of Nursing, supervises staff, collaborates with the rehabilitation team, and focuses on reducing unplanned transfers while supporting residents and families through discharge planning and education.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing required.
• At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in the long term care setting.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in supervision of staff.
• Ability to manage and direct subordinates.
• Excellent interpersonal skills - able to communicate and work well with residents, families, and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• In charge of the unit nursing and CNA staff to ensure resident care and safety.
• Directs daily nursing care and staff assignments on the unit.
• Ensures adherence to clinical policies and educates residents and families.
• Communicates residents' needs to physicians and seeks interventions to reduce transfers.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to meet discharge goals.
• Identifies education needs for resident and family pre-discharge.
