Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking an experienced Inventory Accountant to support inventory accounting, cost analysis, and financial reporting across multiple product lines. The role partners with operations, supply chain, and finance to improve accuracy and drive informed decisions.

The ideal candidate has GAAP knowledge, 3+ years in inventory accounting, and strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of inventory accounting experience.
• Experience with inventory reporting, reconciliations, and close activities.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles.
• Experience with ERP systems and Excel for advanced reporting.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory accounting records and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Perform inventory reconciliations and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory counts and financial records.
• Analyze inventory costs, product margins, variances, and trends to support business decisions.
• Prepare inventory-related journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with annual financial statement audits and reporting requirements.
• Support inventory valuation processes and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Generate and maintain inventory, cost, and operational reports for leadership.
• Partner with operations and supply chain to improve inventory accuracy and reporting processes.
• Monitor inventory transactions across multiple product lines and locations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased reporting efficiency.
