Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage accounting and financial reporting for real estate investments, funds, and related entities.
• Oversee investment- and asset-level accounting, including general ledger activity, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
• Support monthly and quarterly close processes and ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Manage accounting related to investment-level debt, property taxes, insurance payables, and operating and non-operating accruals.
• Support lender reporting and loan covenant calculations.
• Assist with acquisition and disposition accounting, including establishing accounting structures for newly acquired investments.
• Partner with asset management, finance, and other internal stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting matters.
• Support fair-value and other investment accounting requirements.
• Maintain appropriate accounting controls and identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting.

Our client is an established real estate and infrastructure investment manager with a diversified portfolio of investments across the United States. The organization takes a hands‑on approach to managing real assets throughout the investment lifecycle, including acquisition, operations, financing, and disposition.

Position Overview

The company is seeking an experienced Interim Manager, Accounting to join its Fund & Asset Finance organization. This individual will provide hands‑on accounting and financial oversight across real estate investments and related entities while supporting fund, investment, and asset‑level financial reporting.

The strongest candidates will bring a combination of real estate accounting, fund/investment accounting, and asset management industry experience. Experience with Yardi Investment Accounting / Investment Management is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage accounting and financial reporting for assigned real estate investments, funds, and related entities.

Required Qualifications

• Manager, Controller, Director, or comparable accounting experience within real estate investment management, asset management, or a related investment environment.
• Strong fund accounting and/or investment accounting experience.
• Hands‑on experience with real estate and asset‑level accounting.
• Ability to work 40 hours per week and onsite three days per week in Phoenix.
• Ability to quickly integrate into an established organization and operate effectively with limited ramp‑up time.

Preferred Qualifications

• Yardi Investment Accounting / Investment Management experience – strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of ASC 970 (Real Estate) and ASC 820 (Fair Value Measurement).
• Experience with investment‑level debt, lender reporting, loan covenant calculations, acquisitions, dispositions, and complex investment structures.
