Job summary

Sage Hospitality Group seeks a Bench Finance Director to provide interim, hands-on leadership of a hotel's finance team when a Director of Finance is absent or a vacancy exists. The role safeguards the integrity and timeliness of financial operations while partnering with the General Manager and operating leaders to protect profitability, controls, and service delivery.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Five+ years of progressive hotel finance or accounting experience; leadership required.
• Advanced knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, payroll, internal controls.
• Willingness to travel frequently; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day hotel finance department during coverage periods; ensure continuity, accuracy, controls.
• Supervise 1–7 finance associates; coach and evaluate; address performance concerns.
• Prepare and review financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and reporting.
• Monitor revenue, labor, and expense trends; identify risks and recommend actions.
• Maintain internal controls and acceptable cash handling procedures.
• Partner with department heads to manage expenditures and forecasted operating costs.
• Travel to assigned hotels as business needs require.
