Job summary

Sage Hospitality Group is seeking a Bench Director of Finance to provide interim, hands-on leadership of the hotel finance department when a Director of Finance is absent or additional leadership is needed. This role safeguards financial operations, profitability, and controls while partnering with the General Manager and operating leaders.

The incumbent will lead, develop, and transition the team, ensuring timely financial statements, forecasts, budgets, and state/federal reporting.

Qualifications

• Education: a four-year college degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Five+ years of progressive hotel finance or accounting experience with leadership responsibility.
• Advanced knowledge of hotel accounting, financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, payroll, AP/AR, cash controls, month-end close, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day hotel finance operations during assigned coverage periods with emphasis on continuity, accuracy, controls, and timely decision support.
• Directly supervise 1–7 finance associates; coach, schedule, and evaluate performance with HR oversight.
• Assess department conditions at the start of each assignment, including staffing, month-end status, cash controls, and reconciliations.
