Job summary

UpTogether seeks an experienced Interim Director of Development / Chief of Staff to steward fundraising, external relationships, and communications through December 2026. Working with the CEO and Executive Team, you will ensure continuity across national fundraising, partnerships, and donor engagement while coordinating strategic initiatives.

You will lead pipeline development, manage proposals and grant applications, maintain Salesforce records, and support board and committee meetings.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of fundraising experience with a track record of six- to seven-figure grants/gifts.
• Experience with a wide range of donors including philanthropic, corporate, private, HNWI, government.
• Established grant-raising and grant oversight experience preferred.
• Ability to articulate UpTogether's mission and approach to diverse audiences.
• Strong project management and timely follow-up behaviors.
• Experience managing staff and overseeing contractors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee External Affairs functions through end of 2026, partnering with CEO and maintaining relationships with foundations and stakeholders.
• Support fundraising pipeline development, proposals, and project execution; manage contractors for timely, quality work.
• Meet with foundations, partners, and officials to cultivate prospects and maintain relationships.
• Maintain Salesforce records, tracking, and project management flows; steward ongoing proposals.
• Lead external communications, presentations, and partner engagements with CEO.
• Support annual giving, donor stewardship, and campaign planning and execution.
• Prepare governance materials and coordinate Board and Committee meetings, agendas, and minutes.
