Major, Lindsey & Africa is seeking a seasoned attorney to support our client, a global leader in technical professional services, on a part‑time interim basis (could expand). This role is ideal for a legal professional with deep experience in construction management contracts, particularly within the heavy industrial sector.

Position Title: Interim Commercial Attorney – Construction

Company: Leading American international technical professional services firm based in Dallas, TX.

Location: Remote

Key Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate complex construction management agreements
• Provide legal counsel on contracts involving primary contractors and subcontractors
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align contract terms with business objectives
• Mark up and revise contract language to mitigate risk and ensure compliance
• Advise on legal issues related to project delivery, liability, indemnity, and performance obligations
• Support ongoing contract negotiations and project execution

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
• 5–10+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on management contracts for heavy industry projects
• Demonstrated expertise in contracts involving layered contractor relationships (prime/subcontractor structures)
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills, with a pragmatic approach to risk and business needs
• Comfortable working independently and interfacing with technical and operational teams
• Flexible availability for part‑time hours, with potential to scale up to full‑time as needed
• Remote work capability; preference for candidates located in Central or Eastern U.S. time zones
