Major, Lindsey & Africa seeks an Interim General Commercial Real Estate Attorney to support a national law firm’s real estate practice. The role is remote with a focus on drafting, negotiating, and closing complex commercial real estate deals across the United States.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active and in-good-standing admission to at least one U.S. state bar.
• 5+ years experience with commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
• Experience with real estate joint ventures strongly preferred.
• Prior law firm experience strongly preferred.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, diligence, and transaction-management skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a broader deal team.
• Excellent judgment, responsiveness, attention to detail, and client-service skills.
• Experience representing private equity funds, institutional investors, developers, owners, or operators is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, revise, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements and related transaction documents.
• Support commercial real estate acquisitions and dispositions from initial diligence through closing.
• Assist with the formation, documentation, and negotiation of real estate joint ventures.
• Review property, title, survey, zoning, environmental, organizational, and other diligence materials, as appropriate.
• Draft and negotiate ancillary agreements, closing documents, certificates, consents, and assignments.
• Prepare and maintain transaction checklists and coordinate closing deliverables.
• Work closely with partners, associates, clients, opposing counsel, and third-party professionals.
• Identify transaction risks and communicate practical solutions clearly and efficiently.
• Manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-moving law firm environment.
