Job description

Hybrid | Dallas–Fort Worth (3 days onsite)

This is an opportunity for an experienced construction contracts professional to join a growing in-house legal team. Colvin Resources Group is recruiting a Contract Manager for a large, global infrastructure company. The company is expanding rapidly in Texas and across North America and is adding this role to support that growth. Our client offers competitive base salary plus bonus.

About the Role

Reporting to senior in-house counsel, you’ll provide contract and legal operations support to the attorneys who handle the company’s construction and procurement work. Your main focus will be processing standard agreements that follow approved templates, and doing the first review of negotiated contracts. You’ll also support the team more broadly. That includes owning the contract tracking log, maintaining templates, and handling other administrative and operational tasks.

What Success Looks Like
  • Learn the company’s standard forms, negotiation guides, and approval process, and become the person who moves routine POs, work orders, and change orders through to signature.
  • Take charge of the team’s contract tracking log so deal status, key dates, renewals, and obligations are always current.
  • Become a reliable resource on a major construction project, working side by side with its attorney and project team to understand its contracts and outstanding issues.
Making an impact
  • Take the first look at negotiated contracts. You’ll decline minor counterparty changes, negotiate within a defined set of approved fallback positions, and bring any risks or inconsistencies to counsel’s attention.
  • Be the go-to person for contract questions from internal teams, bringing in counsel on complex matters.
  • Keep standard forms, contract language, and negotiation guides current, and work with counsel to improve them.
  • Keep day-to-day legal operations running smoothly. This includes approvals, outside counsel billing, audits, reporting, and requests for documents.
Growing the role
  • As you earn the team’s trust and gain experience, you’ll take ownership of negotiating lower-risk agreements on your own from start to finish.
What You Bring
  • 3–7+ years negotiating construction-related agreements, such as subcontracts, supplier agreements, purchase orders, work orders, and change orders, within a process built on templates and playbooks.
  • A solid grasp of contract language, risk, and negotiation, plus sound judgment about when to involve counsel.
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to keep many contracts and deadlines on track at once.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with attorneys, business partners, subcontractors, and outside law firms.
  • Trustworthiness with sensitive business and legal information.
  • Skill with Microsoft Office and familiarity with contract management and tracking tools.
  • A bachelor’s degree. Real-world contract experience is valued over a specific field of study.
  • An NCMA certification (CPCM, CFCM, or CCCM) is a plus.
