Job summary

Dickson County Schools is seeking an Educational Assistant to support classroom teachers under the supervision of the principal at an assigned school. The candidate will assist with instruction, supervise students in common areas, provide tutoring, and help with clerical tasks, preparing instructional materials and setting up audio/visual equipment to facilitate daily learning during a 200-day contract.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; strong English communication

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with youth preferred.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in classroom activities and setup, monitor students.
• Provide tutoring and one-on-one assistance in basic skills.
• Monitor students in cafeteria, halls, and on field trips.
• Monitor behavior and assist with disciplinary actions as needed.
• Perform clerical tasks and manage student records and materials.
