Job summary

Dickson County Schools seeks an Educational Assistant to support classroom teachers at the assigned school, under the supervision of the principal. Responsibilities include assisting with instruction, preparing materials, supervising students, and maintaining records.

This 200-day contract with flexible hours provides opportunities to work with diverse student populations, tutor students one-on-one, monitor behavior, and help with clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with youth is frequently preferred.
• Strong communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking English are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in classrooms and during activities; prepare materials and set up AV equipment.
• Provide tutoring or one-on-one help in basic educational skills; support lesson planning.
• Monitor students in common areas and during dismissal or field trips; supervise behavior as needed.
• Assist with clerical tasks; manage records, emails, and administrative duties.
• Participate in staff and parent meetings; communicate with stakeholders as needed.
• Assist in reading labs or other instructional settings; follow teacher directions and school policies.
