Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant IV to provide specialized support to students with Significant Support Needs (SSN). You will work under a licensed special education teacher to implement health, mobility, and life skills instruction in a structured learning environment.

Responsibilities include assisting with positioning, health monitoring, personal care, and communication support, while promoting safety and independence.

Qualifications

• Must follow written and verbal instructions for IEPs, health plans and behavior protocols with high fidelity.
• Strong commitment to student dignity, safety and promoting independence for all students.
• Willingness and ability to assist students with personal care, toileting and mobility with appropriate training.

Responsibilities

• Health, Mobility & Safety: assist with positioning, transferring and mobility using equipment; monitor delegated health care procedures including emergency meds; maintain a safe, clean learning environment during transitions and meals.
• Functional & Life Skills Support: support IEP goals and academic/functional skills; provide access to accommodations; reinforce instruction and behavior strategies.
• Support daily living activities and communication methods, including PECS and AAC devices; assist with dressing, feeding and toileting as trained.
