Job summary

Douglas County School District is seeking an Educational Assistant IV for the Significant Support Needs (SSN) program at Mountain Ridge Middle School. The role provides intensive support to students with significant cognitive and physical needs, assisting with mobility, health procedures, and life skills within a structured setting.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP goals, facilitating communication methods, and ensuring safety during transitions and activities.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young adults with significant cognitive or physical disabilities, or complex medical needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Health, Mobility, & Safety: assist with positioning, transfers, and mobility using equipment; monitor delegated health care procedures; maintain a safe, clean learning environment; supervise during transitions and meals.
• Functional & Life Skills Support: assist with IEP goals, support SSN students across settings, help with daily living skills and communication methods.
