Job summary

Douglas County School District seeks an Educational Assistant (EA IV) to provide intensive, individualized support to students with Significant Support Needs under the supervision of a licensed special education teacher. Duties include assisting with positioning, health care procedures, and promoting safety, engagement, and independence in a structured classroom.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for IEPs, health plans, and behavior protocols.
• Willingness and ability to assist with personal care, toileting, and mobility.

Responsibilities

• Assist with student positioning, transferring, and mobility using specialized equipment.
• Monitor and provide delegated health care procedures including seizure monitoring or emergency medication.
• Maintain a safe and clean learning environment and supervise transitions and mealtimes.
• Support implementation of IEP goals across academics, functional skills, communication, and life skills.
• Assist with daily living activities such as dressing, feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene.
