Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an installation technician to set up complex security systems including access control, CCTV, and networked recorders for clients in the New York area.

You will read schematics and specifications, troubleshoot with testing devices, and ensure all components operate correctly. The role requires a high school diploma, A+ certification, and 3+ years in security systems with TCP/IP networking. Union benefits provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• A+ certification required.
• 3+ years in Digital & Analog Camera Systems.
• 3+ years in Access Control Systems.
• Understanding of Alarm Systems.
• IP addressable security devices (2+ years).
• Proficient with TCP/IP networking.

Responsibilities

• Install complex integrated security systems including wiring, equipment, and programming of access control, CCTV, digital/ network recorders, and intercom systems.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and manuals to plan installations.
• Troubleshoot with electronic test equipment and diagnose issues during installation.
• Perform end-to-end system checks and ensure proper operation.
• Capably route cables, drill and mount equipment, and terminate wires.
• Prepare and submit required paperwork for jobs.
• Train end users on system operation.
