Job summary

Johnson Controls in New York is seeking an experienced technician to install, program, and service Fire Alarm, Access Control, and CCTV systems at customer sites, with a focus on networked fire alarm panels.

You will read blueprints, perform testing, and supervise installation while maintaining safety and quality. Overnight travel and after-hours calls may be required; a valid driver’s license is needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems including Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, CCTV and Security Systems
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and manuals
• Experience with hand tools, test equipment, multimeter, and commissioning devices
• Able to lift 50-70 lbs and work in ladders, scaffolds, ducts, and confined spaces
• Willing to work flexible hours and occasional overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Install/program/commission/serve Fire Alarm, Access Control, CCTV and related building systems at customer sites
• Troubleshoot, repair, and respond to service calls promptly
• Read blueprints, diagrams, and manuals; supervise install to meet specs
• Complete certification courses and required documentation on time
• Participate in after-hours service program and coordinate with dispatch
