Job summary

Aligned Data Centers seeks an Integrated Design Manager to lead day-to-day design management, coordinating architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, BMS, and other systems across projects. You will drive design gates, manage third‑party teams, track schedules, and ensure designs meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience managing commercial project design programs.
• Data center or technical industry design/construction experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Bluebeam, Excel, Smartsheets, and design management tools.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% (on-site time varies by project).

Responsibilities

• Lead design management activities from land enablement handoff through turnover to Construction and Operations.
• Serve as the primary integrator of architectural, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, BMS, and other specialty systems.
• Manage onboarding and oversight of third‑party design teams, including development and maintenance of design schedules and deliverable tracking.
• Drive stakeholder review cycles by collecting, consolidating, and facilitating timely resolution of design comments.
• Enforce design gating, internal ADC project requirements including CDE, CCL, DEC alignment, and approval processes.
• Early identification, tracking, and resolving design variances and required technical approvals.
• Maintain project risk registers and coordinate mitigation actions with project teams.
• Prepare and maintain design metrics, submission tracking, permit tracking, and reporting dashboards.
• Partner closely with Construction Managers to support coordination, escalation management, and performance certainty.
• Participate in customer technical discussions and ensure contract requirements are integrated into the design.
• Promote continuous improvement, clear communication, and accountability across all design participants.
