Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Intake Coordinator for its ARP Rehabilitation program in the Papillion, NE area. This part-time, non-exempt role supports occupancy goals and community outreach under supervision.

The function emphasizes crisis response, client intake, referrals, and collaboration with referral sources. Strong communication and crisis-management abilities are essential, with in-house residency requirements and a valid driver’s license expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• Experience working with homeless population.
• Knowledge of local community resources.
• Ability to use BITS software program.
• Computer literate in MS Office software.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain non-judgmental, professional client interactions.
• Handle crisis and emergency situations, crisis intervention, crowd management, and conflict resolution.
• Ability to assess at-risk participants and situations.
• Support the Salvation Army ARP philosophy and religious goals.
• No evidence of chemical dependency.
• Possess a valid driver’s license or obtain within 45 days.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• In-house residency required: 4 nights per week.
• Able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop intake operations in line with ARP standards.
• Process intake of new beneficiaries, including issuing ID cards.
• Maintain contact with referral sources to sustain referrals at 90% capacity.
• Assist in dispensing initial clothing requisitions and canteen cards.
• Lead orientation for beneficiaries as needed.
• Ensure initial mentor meetings, work assignments, and chaplain interviews occur.
• Attend required meetings (case conferences, etc.).
• Prepare statistical reports per policy and procedure.
• Attend inter-agency meetings and develop referral networks.
• Assist Resident Manager with nighttime beneficiary supervision.
• Model professional behavior and dress appropriately.
• Perform other duties to ensure program efficiency.
