Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking an Intake Coordinator for the Albuquerque ARP to drive occupancy and coordinate outreach with community partners. The role works under the Program Manager and supports beneficiaries, staff, and volunteers in a compassionate, crisis-resilient environment.

Responsibilities include intake processing, orientation, referrals, and reporting, with a focus on maintaining program integrity and collaboration with referral sources.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with homeless population or related social services.
• Knowledge of local community resources and referrals.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record; license may need to be acquired within 45 days.
• Ability to use BITS software and MS Office programs.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and communities.
• Maintains non-judgemental professional attitude with clients.
• Willingness to work some nights and manage crises when needed.
• Background check successfully completed.

Responsibilities

• Develop intake operations aligned with ARP standards.
• Process intake of new beneficiaries and issue IDs.
• Maintain ongoing referrals to sustain program capacity (90%).
• Assist with initial clothing requisitions and canteen cards.
• Lead beneficiary orientation and coordinate mentor meetings.
• Attend required case conferences and inter-agency meetings.
• Prepare program statistics and center reports.
• Develop referral networks with local colleges, Native Nations, and courts.
• Provide nighttime beneficiary supervision as needed.
• Model professional conduct and dress for beneficiaries.
