Job summary

Parkwood Behavioral Health System, a UHS facility in Desoto County, Mississippi, is seeking a PRN Intake Registered Nurse to join its multidisciplinary team. The RN provides professional nursing care, coordinates care with the treatment plan, and reviews admission documentation to ensure quality patient care.

The role requires one year of psychiatric nursing experience, graduation from an accredited program (BSN preferred), and current Mississippi RN license. CPR training is also required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
• One year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing required.
• Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN.
• Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in alignment with the multidisciplinary treatment plan.
• Review medical documentation for patient admission to the hospital and coordinate intake processes.
