Parkwood Behavioral Health System, a UHS facility in Desoto County, Mississippi, is seeking a PRN Intake Registered Nurse for weekend night shifts (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.).

The RN provides professional nursing care within a multidisciplinary treatment team and reviews admission documents to ensure accurate patient placement. The role requires a nursing degree with one year of psychiatric experience and an RN license (Mississippi or multi-state as approved).

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.
• One year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing required.
• Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi-state license as approved by NCSBN.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care on intake unit as part of the multidisciplinary treatment team.
• Review medical documentation for patient admission to the hospital.
• Coordinate and delegate nursing care using the nursing process.

Intake Registered Nurse

PRN (As Needed)

We are currently seeking a PRN (As Needed) Intake Registered Nurse. The Intake Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of Parkwood Behavioral Health. The Registered Nurse prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care.

The Registered Nurse is accountable for promoting and enhancing professional nursing practice on the unit. The Registered Nurse will also review medical documentation for patient admission to the hospital.

Qualifications

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN preferred.

Experience

One year prior psychiatric experience in mental health nursing required.

Licensure/Certification

Licensure and registration by the Mississippi Board of Nursing as a registered nurse, or multi‑state license as approved by NCSBN.

Knowledge

Must possess knowledge of general and psychiatric nursing processes, therapeutic relationships and processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavior management and CPR training.
