Job summary

AristaCare Health in Oklahoma City, OK is seeking an Intake Coordinator who multitasks to ensure patients have adequate insurance coverage for infusion services and to relay information to the care team.

Responsibilities include communicating with referral sources and insurers, obtaining authorizations, coordinating the referral process, and maintaining HIPAA compliance while supporting a smooth transition home.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• One year of intake experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the home health care field.
• Basic knowledge of the Insurance approval/authorization process.

Responsibilities

• Informs referral sources of patients' insurance benefits and coverage.
• Explains treatment plan to insurers, agencies, patients and families.
• Obtains required authorizations and records them in the system.
• Notifies team that referral is ready to be serviced after authorization.
• Maintains confidentiality per HIPAA and AristaCare policies.
• Cultivates positive relationships with internal and external staff.
• Assists with arranging supplies or nursing services for home transition.
• Keeps marketing and pharmacy staff informed about insurance updates.
• Completes mandatory regulatory training.
