Job summary

Universal Health Services' University Behavioral Health of Denton seeks an Intake Counselor to assess risk and determine the appropriate level of care for potential patients, coordinating referrals and admissions. This role involves telephonic and in-person contact with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff, and includes verifying insurance benefits and prior authorization when needed.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in psychology, social work or related field preferred.
• 1–3 years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice as a LPC-Associate, LPC, LMSW, LCSW or RN in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide telephonic and in-person risk assessment to determine appropriate level of care.
• Coordinate referral and intake process, and facilitate admission.
• Maintain communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff.
• Verify and obtain prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed.
