Job summary

University Behavioral Health of Denton is seeking a full-time Care Center Intake Specialist to support the process of receiving, scheduling, and referring inquiry calls. You will assist intake counselors, coordinators, and the director with coordinating assessments and initiating intake paperwork and insurance information, ensuring a smooth transition into admission.

The role involves handling referrals, arranging pre-certifications, coordinating with physicians, and supporting business office

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human-related field preferred.
• Experience working in a hospital intake department or business office preferred.
• C.N.A. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive referral calls, obtain minimal demographic information, and refer the call to the appropriate source or schedule an assessment.
• Process all requests for information and external referrals.
• Completes pre-certifications as needed.
• Assist in arranging for admission of patients, including alerting the business office staff to begin the verification of benefits, initiating calls to physicians and other related tasks as directed by the Case Manager.
