Job summary

St. Croix Hospice is seeking an Intake Coordinator to manage the patient intake process, verify funding sources, and coordinate insurance authorizations. This on-site role supports relationships with referral sources and patients, ensuring accurate information for billing.

Responsibilities include overseeing onboarding, coordinating care transitions to home care, and maintaining knowledge of contractual relationships. Strong communication and organization are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a health care setting, billing, and familiar with medical terminology.
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
• Working knowledge of office equipment (fax, printer, photocopier, voicemail).
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Receives daily patient referral and intake calls and verifies funding source.
• Works with provider and funding source to obtain authorizations for service.
• Collects accurate information for billing by coordinating with clients and insurers.
