Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking an Intake Coordinator to support the Adult Rehabilitation Center program in NJ. You will work with program staff and administrators to maintain a quality intake system and ensure a welcoming first impression for applicants.

Responsibilities include screening, interviewing, coordinating with outside agencies, maintaining records, and facilitating education sessions. Strong communication and confidentiality are essential, with occasional evening or weekend meetings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• CADC or comparable residential/rehabilitation experience preferred.

• Work cooperatively with ARC staff, beneficiaries, and outside agencies.
• Visit and coordinate with outside agencies to raise awareness of ARC services.
• Develop and maintain a network of outside referral sources by telephone, letter, and personal contact for referrals and collaborations.
• Interview, assess, and process paperwork for applicants, maintain waiting lists, and provide resources for those not admitted.
• Maintain the house tracking system with weekly updates on counseling, bed, and work therapy assignments.
• Facilitate community engagement activities to identify potential new beneficiaries.
• Conduct 1-2 education classes or groups weekly as assigned.
• Assist counselor and senior staff in crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensure gratuity reports are updated and forwarded to the finance office.
• Coordinate with outside groups to bring speakers and information aligned with Christian recovery values.
• Record statistical information and submit within three business days after month-end; daily/weekly reporting as required.
• Operate compliance screening equipment and maintain accuracy of test results.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and other requested meetings; present resident cases as requested.
• Participate in retreats, conferences, and Salvation Army events; may include evenings or weekends.
• Support work therapy component by modeling professional conduct and work habits.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or Administrators.

Function: The Intake Coordinator will work cooperatively with Program staff and Administrator(s) to maintain a quality intake system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Be a part of a team that provides a caring, respectful, safe atmosphere to those seeking life transformation through the ARC program.
• Work cooperatively with all ARC staff, beneficiaries, and outside agencies.
• Visit and coordinate with outside agencies to make them aware of the services the Adult Rehabilitation Center provides for those in need of life transformation.
• Develop and maintain a network of outside referral sources by telephone, letter, and personal contact to:
  • (1) arrange for the referral of applicants to The Salvation Army ARC program;
  • (2) arrange for outside sources to tour and view The Salvation Army ARC program; and
  • (3) make appropriate referrals to resources outside the ARC program.
• Interview, assess, and process necessary paperwork for applicants to the ARC program, striving to maintain a full capacity at all times. Provide a positive, appealing, and uplifting first impression of the ARC program. Maintain a waiting list of potential applicants. Assist potential applicants with the completion of all required forms. Provide applicants who are not appropriate for admission with resources of other suitable services.
• Ensure that the house tracking system is maintained and updated at least weekly, including changes to counseling assignments, bed assignments, and work therapy assignments.
• Facilitate community engagement activities to strengthen opportunities for identification of potential new beneficiaries.
• Conduct 1-2 education classes and/or groups each week as assigned.
• Assist counselor and other senior program staff in crisis intervention as needed.
• Ensure that weekly gratuity reports are updated and forwarded to the finance office for gratuity processing as assigned.
• As directed by Administrator(s), coordinate with outside groups to bring speakers and information that model Christian values of recovery and have an active commitment to substance free living.
• Record statistical information as related to your area of responsibility. Submit to Administrator(s) within three business days following the end of the month. Daily/weekly reporting is to be done on a daily basis. Intake Coordinator rev 10.12.23 2 The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
• Operate compliance screening for prohibited substances equipment, as required, keeping an accurate and up to date record of all test results. Maintain all equipment, including breathalyzers, to ensure validity and accuracy of results.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and all meetings as requested by the Administrator(s). Present resident cases as requested.
• Attend retreats, conferences, and other Salvation Army events as scheduled and assigned (which may include weekend and/or evening time).
• This position will support the work therapy program component of The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers by providing beneficiaries with an example of professional conduct and work habits.
• Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor and/or Administrator(s).
