Job summary

Bethany Christian Services USA LLC is seeking an Intake Coordinator for our Harrisburg, PA site. This part-time position supports local staff and clients through intake processes, discharges, and documentation, while upholding our faith-based mission.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Human Services, strong communication, and reliability. The role involves driving to client locations, maintaining confidential records, and coordinating with supervisors to meet program needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field.
  • Prior work experience in cross-cultural settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and compassionate to meet needs of traumatized adults and children.
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and have a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S.
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and attend arranged intakes for the local site to ensure all staff and clients are apprised of the intake process.
  • Coordinate and facilitate discharges as needed.
  • Conduct case support tasks, including background checks, address checks, filing, information input, and case noting; coordinate information sharing.
  • Provide transportation for arrivals and intakes as requested.
  • Meet with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work.
  • Effectively track intakes and discharges; maintain accurate client records.
  • Assist in collection and reporting of program outcome data.
  • Attend trainings as requested by supervisor.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

  • Organize and attend arranged intakes for the local site to ensure all staff, and clients are apprised of the intake process;
  • Coordinate and facilitate discharges as needed;
  • Conduct case support tasks, such as background checks, address checks, filing, information input, case noting, and coordinate information sharing;

  • Meet with regularly with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work;
  • Effectively track intakes and discharges as needed;
  • Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records;
  • Assist in the collection, compilation and reporting of program outcome data;
  • Attend trainings as requested by supervisor;
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department;
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event;
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

What Will Make You Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field of study from an accredited college;
  • Prior work experience in cross-cultural settings;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and compassionate to meet the needs of traumatized adults and children;
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality;
  • Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions including knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver's license with at least 3 years driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany;
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate coverage;
  • Pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries;
  • Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Commitment to Unity.
