Job summary

Bethany Christian Services is seeking an Intake Coordinator for our on-site team in Atlanta, GA. The role supports refugee and immigrant programs, organizing intakes, coordinating case tasks, and transporting arrivals as needed.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Human Services, cross-cultural experience, strong communication skills, and a valid driver’s license with MVR checks. Join us in our faith-driven mission to serve children and families.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field from an accredited college.
  • Prior work experience in cross-cultural settings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, creative, and compassionate to meet the needs of traumatized adults and children.
  • Exercise a high level of confidentiality.
  • Must be 21 years old with a valid driver’s license with at least 3 years of driving experience in the U.S. to operate a vehicle on behalf of Bethany.
  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage.
  • Exhibit integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care.
  • Be properly trained and licensed, as necessary.

  • Results of medical examination (as required by State Licensing, including results of TB tests and immunization records).

Responsibilities

  • Organize and attend arranged intakes for the local site to ensure all staff, and clients are apprised of the intake process.
  • Conduct case support tasks, such as background checks, address checks, filing, information input, case noting, and coordinate information sharing.
  • Provide transportation for arrivals and intakes, as requested.
  • Meet regularly with direct supervisor to schedule and prioritize work.
  • Effectively track intakes and discharges.
  • Record and maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Assist in the collection, compilation and reporting of program outcome data.
  • Attend trainings as requested by supervisor.
  • Essential job responsibilities may vary based on the specific needs of each program/department.
  • May be required or asked to participate in a Bethany sponsored event.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

How Your Role Makes a Difference

  • Must pass a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check and maintain a reliable vehicle with proof of adequate insurance coverage;
  • Exhibit integrity and good moral character to provide appropriate care;
  • Possess the relevant experience and/or qualifications to work with these clients and clients with special needs; and,
  • Be properly trained and licensed, as necessary;
  • Must be able to show proof of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases transmitted by the respiratory route:
  • TDap or Tdap: Complete primary vaccination series. If primary vaccination series completed in childhood, one Tdap dose in adulthood;
  • Results of medical examination (as required by State Licensing, including results of TB tests and immunization records);
