violet health | Infusion Care is seeking an Intake & Billing Specialist to manage patient onboardings and revenue cycle tasks. You will verify insurance eligibility, process patient intake, and ensure accurate billing and claims submission.
The role covers authorization coordination, charges entry, claims submission, denial management, patient communication, and HIPAA-compliant data handling within the EHR system.
Role Overview
As an Intake & Billing Specialist, you will sit at the intersection of patient onboarding and revenue cycle operations. You will serve as the first point of touch for verifying insurance eligibility, completing patient intake, and ensuring accurate, timely medical billing and claims submission.
What you’ll do
Patient Intake & Verification: Review patient referrals, process registration forms, and verify medical insurance benefits/eligibility prior to appointments.
Prior Authorizations: Coordinate with insurance payers to secure pre-authorizations and coverage confirmations for specialized treatments.
Billing & Claims Processing: Enter charges, compile electronic claims, and submit medical bills according to coding and payer guidelines.
Accounts Receivable & Denial Management: Track claim statuses, resolve billing discrepancies, manage rejections/denials, and handle appeals.
Patient Communication: Clearly explain billing policies, out-of-pocket estimates, and copays to patients with empathy and professionalism.
Compliance & Records: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA standards and ensure accurate data input in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
Experience: 2+ years of healthcare infusion intake, infusion coding, and infusion billing.
Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with EHR/EMR platforms,medical billing software, Google Workspace, Slack, Rippling, and Weinfuse.
Knowledge: Understanding of ICD-10/CPT coding, prior authorization workflows, and commercial/government payer rules.
Soft Skills: Excellent verbal/written communication, strong attention to detail, and a compassionate, patient-first mindset.
