Job summary

Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge is seeking an Intake Coordinator in Minneapolis, MN. You’ll guide new clients from intake through admission, coordinating with admissions, clinical and program teams to ensure a smooth transition into treatment.

Responsibilities include processing paperwork, screening for eligibility, helping clients access funding such as the Behavioral Health Fund, and maintaining accurate records while delivering compassionate support and clear communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience working with people facing substance use, mental health, or other life-controlling challenges.
• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Clear, compassionate communication and the ability to build rapport quickly.
• At least one year of freedom from problematic substances.

Responsibilities

• Serve as each client’s primary point of contact from intake through admission
• Guide clients through admission paperwork, releases, and onboarding
• Screen for financial eligibility and help clients enroll in the Behavioral Health Fund (BHF) and other funding programs
• Identify and resolve barriers that could delay admission
• Help clients get set up with services, resources, and technology platforms
• Coordinate with internal teams, families, and referral sources to support continuity of care
• Manage walk-in admissions, respond to inquiries, and support the front desk as needed
• Keep accurate, timely records in organizational systems
