Job summary

United Counseling Service is seeking an Intake Specialist to manage initial access, intake, and admission processes at our Bennington, VT location. You will gather demographic and financial data, coordinate referrals, and maintain essential access reporting to support universal access operations.

The role requires strong computer skills, experience with EHR systems, and a patient-centered approach to connect individuals with appropriate clinical services and community resources.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Human Services preferred, or 3-5 years relevant experience in behavioral health or admin support.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and EHR preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage intake and admission processes from initial contact.
• Collect demographic, financial, and insurance information.
• Update and maintain UA data and monthly reports.
• Coordinate referrals to internal and external resources.
• Provide front desk support and transfer to staff as needed.
• Assist with outreach and coordination of services.
