International Executive Service Corps is seeking a Behavioral Health UR/Intake Coordinator to join its healthcare team. The role supports treatment planning, screens callers, performs face-to-face assessments in the ED and Behavioral Health Center, obtains insurance pre-certifications, and coordinates transfers as directed.

The position requires knowledge of EMTALA, JCAHO and CMS standards, ability to follow instructions, and strong coordination with physicians and staff to secure admission

Qualifikationen

• Associate or Bachelor Degree or 3 years MHT experience.
• Experience in Intake and/or UR preferred.
• Knowledge of EMTALA, JCAHO and CMS standards.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Aufgaben

• Assessment and documentation of patients for possible admission to the behavioral health center
• Obtaining insurance authorization for inpatient admissions
• Documentation in APS Careconnections Program
• Reviewing and reporting clinical information to the patient’s insurance company for continued stay authorizations
• Communicating between other hospital departments and on site physicians during any psychiatric consults
• Making appropriate referrals for assessed patients that do not meet admission criteria
• Communicating the appropriate procedures to potential patients during inquiry calls
• Promotes customer service (Patients, Families, Visitors, Employees, Physicians)
• Other duties as assigned
• Apply physical intervention techniques as a last resort to prevent harm to patients and/or staff
