Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a full-time Insurance Verifier to support our admissions and billing teams in Fort Worth, TX.

The role requires at least two years of hospital insurance verification experience, strong typing skills, and proficiency with Word and Excel. You will interface with patients, families, physicians, and staff to ensure accurate benefits verification and proper authorizations.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Notify patients of amounts due and document in billing system.
• Perform other duties as required by the department.

Insurance Verifier at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:

• Schedule: 8:30-5:00pm Monday through Friday *

• Interface with patients and families, physicians and staff.
• Update patient demographics/information in system.
• Verify insurance benefits, obtaining proper authorization from insurance carrier.
• Determine what funds to collect upon admission.
• Notify patients of monies due and document in billing system.
• Other duties as required or requested by chain of command.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience

• Minimum two years’ previous experience hospital insurance verification required.
• Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
• Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
• Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer Knowledge-Word and Excel preferred
