Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is hiring an Admissions Coordinator to greet patients, verify demographics, process admissions paperwork, and coordinate with physicians, staff, and billing.

You will manage patient information in the system, collect upfront payments when required, and support overflow tasks across the ED, Business Office, and HIM as needed. Previous hospital clerical experience and basic computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One-year hospital clerical experience or related medical terminology familiarity.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and computer systems.
  • Insurance verification experience preferred.
  • BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with patients and families, physicians and staff.
  • Admit patients and process their paperwork.
  • Update patient demographics in the system.
  • Collect monies due and document in billing system.
  • Handle funds per office procedure.
  • Assist with overflow of work from reception (chart preparation), verification, and HIM.
  • Promissory note management and collections.
  • Special projects as assigned by management.
  • Work in Emergency Department, Business Office, or wherever assigned by Directors.

Admissions Coordinator at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:

Education:

Required Experience:

  • One-year previous experience or some hospital clerical experience or medical terminology.
  • Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
  • Insurance verification experience.
  • BLS required within 90 days of employment.
  • Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
  • Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge – Word and Excel preferred.
