Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is seeking a Full Time Insurance Verifier to join our patient-centered team. Located in Fort Worth, TX, our 30-bed surgical facility provides a broad range of specialties and uses advanced imaging and robotic systems.

You will interface with patients, physicians, and staff, verify benefits, obtain authorizations, update demographics, and determine funds due at admission.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years’ hospital insurance verification experience.
• 45 wpm typing required.
• Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial.
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge-Word and Excel preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interface with patients and families, physicians and staff.
• Update patient demographics/information in system.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain proper authorization.
• Determine funds to collect upon admission.
• Notify patients of monies due and document in billing system.

Insurance Verifier at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth:

• Schedule: 8:30-5:00pm Monday through Friday

• Interface with patients and families, physicians and staff.
• Update patient demographics/information in system.
• Verify insurance benefits, obtaining proper authorization from insurance carrier.
• Determine what funds to collect upon admission.
• Notify patients of monies due and document in billing system.
• Other duties as required or requested by chain of command.

Qualifications

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Required Experience

• Minimum two years’ previous experience hospital insurance verification required.
• Must have the skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill job duties.
• Forty-five (45) wpm typing skills required.
• Medical terminology and computer experience beneficial
• Good communication skills.
• Basic computer Knowledge-Word and Excel preferred
