Job summary

Unum is seeking a Sales Consultant Associate in Chicago to learn and represent Unum’s group and voluntary product portfolio. You’ll educate brokers, price and negotiate employee benefit offerings, and support enrollment for new and existing clients.

During development, you’ll receive mentorship and training, moving toward a commission-driven role with uncapped earning potential tied to new business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration and presentation skills.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Organized, with strong project management abilities.
• Strong ability to influence and persuade.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Learn and understand Unum’s business to support new customer acquisition and retention.
• Acquire knowledge of Unum’s product portfolio and services for brokers/clients.
• Develop relationships with brokers in assigned territory/product.
• Assist in enrollment for new/existing customers.
• Build a pipeline to sell and support acquisition/retention in small case market.
• Collaborate with Quote Unum and Underwriting on pricing and negotiation.
