Job summary

Government of the Virgin Islands seeks a high‑level Licensing lead to coordinate the Licensing unit of the Division of Banking, Insurance and Financial Regulation. You will review licensure applications, issue licenses, and supervise staff while assuring regulatory compliance across banks, insurers, and financial services entities.

The role requires strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and the ability to perform field inspections and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field with six accounting credits.
• Four (4) years of experience regulating financial institutions or similar regulatory work, including two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Licensing and compliance knowledge across banking, insurance and financial services.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor Licensing unit functions within the Division of Banking, Insurance and Financial Regulation.
• Review and process applications for licensure and issue licenses and certificates of authority.
• Supervise Licensing staff by assigning work and evaluating performance; provide training opportunities.
• Conduct field inspections of regulated entities and ensure adherence to licensing requirements.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures affecting licensing activities for approval by the Director.
• Respond to requests for certificates of licensure and other information concerning licensees.
