Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Counsel to handle a caseload of primarily low to moderate complexity, from inception through trial and appeal. You will deliver proactive case handling and provide legal guidance to insured clients and claim partners.

The ideal candidate has a JD, an active license, 2+ years of practice, and strong writing, advocacy and research skills, with ability to use technology and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent legal degree from an accredited school.
• 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney with licensure in required states.
• Strong research, writing and oral advocacy abilities; able to handle hearings and trials.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and produce persuasive pleadings, motions and briefs.
• Attend court events, depositions and meetings independently.
• Advise claim partners and insured clients on file handling strategies.
• Maintain strong internal and external client relationships and use technology.
