Job summary

Travelers is seeking a Counsel to handle high quality, proactive litigation for insured clients with a focus on low to moderate complexity cases. You will manage cases from inception through trial, conduct research, draft pleadings, and provide strategic recommendations.

The role requires 3+ years of insurance defense experience, strong communication and persuasive writing abilities, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external clients. Travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate or equivalent law degree from an accredited law school.
• 2 years of experience as a practicing attorney.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply litigation skills to try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and produce persuasive writing and presentations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery and related documents.
• Attend court events, depositions, and appointments.
• Provide case analysis and recommendations to insured clients and claim partners.
