We are seeking an experienced litigation attorney to join our team in California, offering remote or hybrid work options. Position Overview

This role involves investigating and managing civil litigation cases of moderate to high exposure and complexity, from inception to conclusion. You will collaborate with adjusters and clients to resolve claims efficiently and may mentor developing attorneys. This is a full-time, exempt position.

Responsibilities

1. Meet with clients and claims professionals to resolve cases cost-effectively
2. Conduct pre-trials, mediations, arbitrations, and other legal activities
3. Possibly conduct trials independently
4. Advise claim professionals on legal evaluations
5. Provide legal advice as needed
6. Negotiate settlements
7. Participate in round table discussions

Qualifications

• Insurance defense jury trial experience preferred but not mandatory
• Valid driver's license and acceptable MVR
• Licensed to practice law in California
• Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, adjusters, and staff
• Proficiency in MS Word, Lexis/Westlaw, and electronic case management
• Strong advocacy, negotiation, communication, decision-making, organization, investigative, legal research, courtroom, and trial skills
• Interest and knowledge of property and casualty insurance
• Resilience, adaptability, and willingness to mentor others

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Use of standard office equipment
• Sitting or standing for extended periods
• On-site work as needed
• Travel as necessary
• Work hours may exceed 40 hours/week
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
